Seasons
What are seasons in Shiny?
Seasons are periods when the community comes together to focus on a common set of goals, projects, and initiatives. Its goal is to clearly define a scope of work for contributors–what everyone needs to focus their energies on.
Seasons should act as the north star for prioritizing the most valuable workstreams. In most cases, there is no set time limit for a season; it all depends on whether or not the Season's projects and initiatives have been accomplished.
After a season has ended or is about to end, the community enters a "pre-season" phase in which the goal is to re-align, discuss, suggest, and organize around the upcoming season.
Seasons act as the community's roadmap. As a result, a huge chunk of the community's attention, conversation, and energy should be directed toward guaranteeing the accomplishment of each season's north star.
